Frequently asked questions
What happens if I go over my plan limit?
Occasional traffic spikes don’t automatically stop collection. For substantial or sustained overages, we’ll email you to help choose an appropriate plan. You approve plan changes yourself. Unresolved overages can restrict dashboard and API access while collection continues. See our plan-limits guide for the details.
How many sites can I use Fathom on?
At least 50, and more on bigger plans. Our pricing plans are per average monthly pageviews, and every plan includes at least 50 sites (the bigger plans include more), each with its own separate Fathom Analytics dashboard. If you need more than your plan includes, you can add them yourself in packs of 50 for $10/month from your billing settings.
How long are my analytics/data stored?
Forever. We don’t believe in data-retention limits, so as long as you’re a customer, you get access to 100% of your historical data with us. And, if you ever change your mind and want to leave, you can export 100% of your historical data before you go.
Do you have a lower-priced plan?
We do not and have no plans to have a lower-priced plan. Fathom is the best privacy-first, GDPR compliant option that brings truly premium infrastructure to the table (meaning your analytics don’t go offline, and your dashboard is fast, even if you have millions of pageviews per month), and our business is fully sustainable (we're going to be around for the long haul).
Why should I choose Fathom over X?
There are lots of reasons, and we have a whole page on the features we've got. Here’s the gist of why most companies use our software: privacy law compliance (meaning you don’t need cookie notices), accuracy of our stats (we block bots), and have serverless + high-scaling infrastructure without downtime.
I’m running Google Analytics and Fathom, why are the numbers different over the same time period?
Tools can differ in visit definitions, bot filtering, consent settings, blocked requests and time zones. Different totals don’t automatically mean one tool is wrong. Our guide to differences between analytics tools explains what to check.
Do you have feature X?
We are always adding new features and refining existing features. That said, you can explore our current features and see what’s shipped in our changelog. We don’t announce or commit to new features until they’re released to all customers at the same time. We can’t promise release dates, but you’re welcome to tell us what would make Fathom more useful for you.
