From your GA4 property to your Fathom dashboard
- Choose your site. Open Imports in your Fathom site settings and start a new Google Analytics (GA4) import.
- Connect Google Analytics. Authorize access to the GA4 property you want to import.
- Choose your dates. Select the domain and date range. Avoid dates you’ve already imported or collected with Fathom.
- Check the result. We’ll email you when the import finishes. Review the history in your dashboard before removing your previous setup.

Know what will carry across
The importer brings in supported daily analytics available through Google’s API. It doesn’t recreate every GA4 report or import GA events. Imported data has different filtering options from data collected by Fathom, and the totals can differ between tools. Check the import limitations before you start.
Large imports may need smaller date ranges. You can keep using Google Analytics while you evaluate Fathom. Before cancelling Fathom, export any history you want to keep.

Keep your history while subscribed
Universal Analytics data is no longer available from Google. GA4’s standard user- and event-level retention settings are generally 2 or 14 months; they do not affect standard aggregated reports.
